Please
refrain from saying “cheers” instead of saying “bye”. It’s not that I
have a disdain for the word “cheers” or its underlying connotations by
any means. The issue is that I like to say “cheers” at the end of a
conversation, and therefore am at a loss for words when another person
says it first. I am then forced to search for another word on the spot
and often come up with something that does not fit in place of my
standard response; “sure thing” and “yep” to note a few examples. The
only reasonable way to resolve this conflict is for you to either:
- wait for me to say cheers first,
- use another turn of phrase in
place of cheers, one that affords me a more natural response, - refrain from talking to me altogether, or
- refrain from ending
conversations with me, which will lead me into many cumulative,
infinitely enduring conversations.
Thank you

I strongly prefer to abide by the final option in all my conversations, relationships should not be segmented by hello and goodbye bookends!
