One of the most useful applications of an EEG

by Kory M on April 21, 2009

Why not connect Twitter to an EEG, so you can write your updates by just thinking about them?

University of Wisconsin student connected them, and is getting “up to 8 characters per minute.”

Let’s see… 140 characters max / (8 characters/min) = 17.5 minutes to write a single twitter message.

I, @korymath, have 332 updates, assuming each is marginally less then 140 characters this would have taken 332 updates * 15min/updates = 4980 minutes or 83 hours, or three days straight of just thinking about what I am doing…

When are we going to see a Brain Computer Interface with communication speeds of higher then 8 characters/min? Soon I presume…
